As you know I am here since september of 2009. But till february I didnt have a strength to go abroad. Why I wanted to go ?? Because i really like to travel, I wanted to see Bulgaria, I know that from Latvia it would be hard to travel till there, and as it was so close - why not :) So I packed my bag and in early saturday morning I was on my way to Craiova. Stayed there overnight and then full with energy I went farther.. We reached Sofia in late afternoon and started to search for the place. After one hour walk around we ended up in front of the right adress. But what was written on the gates confused us! The Emmbasy of peace :) So we walked around in hopes that there is some side walk or other doors. But -NO!! While standing next to the house we heard that someone is calling us. After all - everything was right and we really stayed in emmbasy of peace :) During the same walk in that evening we saw a lot of beautifull pleaces - churches, presidents building, and parks. All surounded by romantic light :) All streets was covered with the bricks - as we found out later - it was a gift from Austria. In the second day, after a peacefull resting we went to the competition between Bulgarian traditional bands. It was great to see different culture, rythm and melodie. The way they sing and which instruments they used to use. We voted - and won our favourite band :) After everybody united their traditional dance. I was suprised that all participants from the bands was not old ones, but they were in my age - and it was so amazing to see that not only the old ones care about traditions!! I was pleasantly suprised!! And in the last day of our stay our friends invited us to take part in local theathre spectacle. It was helded in a place called *the fridge*. Altought it was old chocolate fabric there really was cold like in the fridge. But the performance was worth it!! It was great and splendid to see something like that.. Something extraordinery!! After this great show we decided to try their national dishes. There was some which really was something new for me, but also some which reminded me home :) However these 3 days was really fruitfull and usefull. I think I could go there again - and acctually - I will :)
