We started to develope our partnership with German High School during Recycling workshop on 19th of February. Few days before we prepared examples what to show to youngsters in this handicraft day. We collected Smantana cans, rolls of toilet paper, carton egg-boxes, branches from trees and bushes, dry plants and bought some tools. On the way to school we took more leaves, sticks and fruits what were left from last season along riverside of Mures. At the noon we stared to organize tables and prepare materials at classroom. We put what we had on the tables to show what kind of decorations and symbols can workshoppers make using only handicraft and recycle methods. Our products were pigs from balloons and egg-boxes, animals made using toilet paper rolls, tulips from egg-boxes and parts of dried plants, checkers table from pizza box, calendars for 1st of March, Martisor day, Smantana cans turned into beautiful pencil holders. Youngsters were amazed and really willing to make something like this. They didn't hestitate to use all materials and be as creative as possible. We spent great time during this workshop, got a lots of smiles and nice handcraft things using recycleable and natural materials.
As youngsters really enjoyed this activity, teacher asked us to repeat this workshop once more. So week after we went back. The same collecting materials process on the way from home to school, the same active youngsters and even more.
It was great opportunity to imrpove my skills as well. After this recycling activity I got more ideas which I would like to realize during the rest of the stage.
