Making volunteering in Arad
Hello, as you all know by now, I’m here for the project CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).This project is very interesting for me because it gives me the possibility of working in the ecological field in Arad and around Arad. This project is not limited in the schools, but can include also institutions and companies.
In this month I have seen the homeless center here in Arad. This center is a help center for homeless children here in Arad. I have some experience in this field, because in Italy I worked in a help center for people with difficulties for a two years period, called The Penelope Association . I spent the first year at the National Civil Service and during the second year I was an operator in this center for making accompaniments in the hospital. This center is hosting homeless people. They have the possibility to offer a place to sleep, food and other leisure activities. They can use the living room for watching the television. In the first year me and the other volunteer in National Civil Service had to make animation programs in the center.
As to give you a little example of their services, there are:
-18 places for sleeping;
-An office to help the people in finding jobs;
-An office to help people in their personal problems;
-An office for women who were victims of violence;
-An office for addicts;
-An office to help people find a place to live.
Also, in this month I made the training for the CSR project, organized by the Millennium Center Association. This training helped me to better understand the project. This training lasted for 3 days. We made a new training in the following week, also lasting 3 days for the other project, called “Smile and the World will smile back”.
And, as some of you already know, we had two short presentations about ourselves and about the EVS project in the German High school. There were two days, in which we had two different groups of students coming from different classes. We are now waiting for their feed-back and getting ready to have some other activities in the following weeks.
